all tonics provide 1 dose of grisodate salt

A recent craze. Longstanding interest in healthful mineral waters, an enthusiasm for sugary applications of grey salt, and the advent of carbonation have lead to tonic fountains sprouting in drugstores Coastwide. These newfashioned bars serve effervescent preparations laden with grisodate, flavored syrups, and a dash of phosphoric acid or quinine. The most popular recipes contain potent additives, appealing to drinkers desiring something more than a dash of sugar with their salt. All tonics provide a dose of grisodate, though they may not taste like it.

Tonics are prepared and consumed at the counter, served with straw and fanciful glass chalice. They are non-portable and don’t keep as packaged medicinals do.

Tonics are potent. Each consumed after the first 1 causes 1 poison stress.
